Rail Trail Marketing Rebrand

Showcasing one of Gippsland’s hidden gems

An incredible Gippsland tourism asset, the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail, a volunteer-based management committee, worked closely with us to reinvigorate its marketing, including a marketing strategy, new website, brochure, promotional video, and social media overhaul.

To fund the project, we also sought grant opportunities, which we successfully obtained through the AGL Loy Yang B Community Grants Program in 2020 to deliver the promotional video and first print run of the brochures.

Our efforts resulted in the rail trail’s vibrant digital presence. This includes an interactive and user-friendly website, a promotional video that beautifully encapsulates 63 km of Central Gippsland’s scenic landscape, a concise and informative brochure, and a significant increase in social media reach and engagement. The rail trail’s iconic steam train logo and branding colours unite all these elements.

Until 2023, we continued to deliver their marketing through social media, press engagement, inbox management, and website updates to ensure that the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail maintains its status as one of Victoria’s premier walking, biking, and riding trails.

THE OUTCOME

PROMOTIONAL VIDEO & Images

The video was created to attract travellers to explore and stay in our beautiful region. It showcases the best of the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail through stunning videography and drone footage that captures the sights and surroundings. Images have been used for digital content and print collateral.

Website

We collaborated with web developers to design a website for people who want to plan their trips in advance. The website features maps, current track conditions, the trail’s history, details about local townships, and upcoming events. Local businesses in the area can benefit from the site by listing their accommodation, retail, tourism, and hospitality services.

The Gippsland Plains Rail Trail is excited to collaborate with local businesses on community projects. After dedicating 25 years to developing and managing the rail trail, we truly understand the importance of supporting local businesses.

They hold the necessary connections and are passionate about bringing local projects to life. Casey Bonacci, a knowledgeable local, leads a company that we have chosen to work on our projects, and we’ve been really happy with the results.
