In 2023, we partnered with Gippsland Women in Business (GWIB), an organisation we have admired for years. As a volunteer organisation, delegating and getting tasks done can be challenging. So, they contacted us for event and marketing support for their 2023 programming. The year’s highlight was their Major event, which hosted a highly sought-after public speaker and feminist activist, Dr Emma Fulu.
GWIB’s mission is to provide empowering and inspiring quality, high-profile speakers to the area, yet cost-effective. To do this, we sought sponsorship from local governments and businesses to pay for speaker costs and other event-related expenses. With a robust marketing campaign across social media, press and e-marketing, we filled a room with extraordinary people from across the region of Gippsland who came together to learn and support the message of Gender Equality.
Dr Emma Fulu’s presentation, aptly named ‘Gender Equality Starts with You’, resonated with all of us. She generously opened up on her personal journey while sharing her knowledge of navigating the intricacies of patriarchy, gender-based violence, and inequality. This was followed by a panel discussion of incredible leaders who are constantly championing for Gippslanders within covering the government, private, and community sectors.
While we knew there was a need for the conversation around gender equality, the positive discussions during and after the event were unprecedented. We have never seen such interest from the GWIB community in taking on this topic, with plenty of engagement post-event on our social media channels.

We ran a successful digital marketing and press campaign to promote the event to the Gippsland audience. The Gippsland Women in Business social media channels were the most responsive, showing significant increases on both Facebook and Instagram. Most importantly, there was a notable increase in click-through rates for tickets on their website.
